The Corundum Conundrum

Swords and Secrets Book 1

“It’s about corundum, and it’s a bit of a conundrum. What would you call it?”

His whole life, Walter Grass has suffered chores in a sleepy hamlet while he dreams of chasing adventure all over the world. When his grandfather gifts him a sword, Walter strikes out on his own, unsure if he’ll return home a brave hero or a dead fool. Walter’s luck swings up when he joins a traveling party heading out on a simple delivery.

But Walter soon learns that few things are easy, whether it’s choosing armor, making friends, or fulfilling a straightforward quest. The world’s problems fester larger and uglier than those in the hamlet, and the stories Walter grew up on are no substitute for experience or skill. All Walter can do is gather his courage, rely on his new friends, and try to save the world from a plot of magic, daring, and revenge.
